Welcome to the House of Rex
We have been breeding and exhibiting, as well as
rescuing, Old English Sheepdogs since 1979. Our home is located on thirty
rolling acres in the center of
Metamora, Michigan hunt country allowing the animals
ample area to frolic. We have a rescue sheep and two pygmy goats, many cats,
but, so far, the House of Rex Sheepdogs prefer to divide their lives between
the show ring and the couch - with the occasional detour to the whelping
box.

April 2007 is Prevent Animal Cruelty Month
The ASPCA sponsors April as Prevention of Animal Cruelty Month to educate
Americans about animal
cruelty and to urge them to report any instances of violence toward animals.
Many animals in your community need your help. Learn how you can prevent
cruelty by understanding the facts behind animal cruelty, what constitutes
cruelty and neglect, and how you can report animal cruelty in your
neighborhood. Know your state's animal cruelty laws and get involved in
helping us lobby for animal welfare. Together, we can make a difference for
all animals.

Dog's
best friend
By
Ginny Stolicker, Oakland Press
Gerri House calls
her babies, and they come running, tumbling over each other,
yipping and barking all the way. One little guy trips. The
others keep right on tromping over him. Wagging ferocious he's
up and running again to his mistress' arms.
The competition's tough for attention, but each dog has his or her fair
share.

Old
English Sheepdogs - Gentle But Protective "Nannies"
We call our animals "gentle but protective
nannies" and they certainly deserve this title. They are excellent guards of
children and property but are always eager for any outing offered. Some
like
the water, others hate it, but all live for their people - especially
children, car rides, walks and being groomed.
- Our breeding stock is all
OFA'd with eyes
CERF'd. We
guarantee hips, hearts and eyes. Our goal is to produce the most sound,
correct and affectionate animals possible with a view to accommodate both
the exhibitor and the pet owner.
Our animals have found homes throughout the
United States and foreign countries. These range from Canada to the
Dominican Republic, and from California to the Virgin Islands.
We are members of the Old English Sheepdog
Club of America, the
Newfoundland Club of America
and the
Great Lakes
Newfoundland Club. Gerri is the past secretary of the Old English Sheepdog
Club of Greater Detroit and past president of the Professional Pet Care
Association of Michigan, Inc.
We welcome inquiries for
puppies and also for
the adoption of adults in the rescue program. |
